Which features do people pay the most attention to when buying a new laptop? A report reveals
An Amazon survey revealed that processors are the most important consideration when purchasing laptops. AI features are gaining traction, while display remains the primary focus for tablet buyers.
RJ Kesari News Desk: Laptops are no longer just a necessity for office workers these days. Laptops are used for a variety of tasks, from studying, online classes, government work, programming, to video and photo editing.
This is why people no longer look only at the look or price when buying a new laptop. They also want to understand how fast the machine will be able to complete their tasks.
The results of the second phase of Amazon's first Best in Tech Survey revealed a similar trend. According to the survey,
the processor has become a top priority when purchasing a laptop. This means that customers are more likely to consider the CPU in a laptop before considering other factors.
AI features have changed the choice of laptops
The use of AI in the laptop world is rapidly increasing. Many new laptops today offer features that claim to make work easier and faster with the help of AI.
58% of laptop buyers surveyed believe that AI-enabled features could be very useful for their everyday productivity in the future.
Meanwhile, 25% of buyers want chips that can process AI-related tasks faster. This means that people are now prioritizing not just general speed, but also hardware that performs well for AI.
Additionally, 23% are interested in creating and editing content using AI. Around 17% of users are interested in features like real-time transcription and translation. This means that AI capabilities could become a major deciding factor when purchasing a laptop in the future.
When buying a tablet, the story is a bit different.
People's preferences for laptops and tablets aren't the same. Display topped the list of tablet buyers' priorities in the survey. Nearly 74% of tablet buyers cited screen size and quality as the most important factors.
In comparison, only 12% cited price as their top priority. Only 9% of tablet buyers cited processor as the most important factor.
It is clear from this that for those buying tablets, a big and good screen matters more, whereas those buying laptops are paying more attention to performance.
