The new plant will be built in two phases at Satyavedu in Tirupati district. This will increase the company's production capacity by 900,000 units.
Bike giant Royal Enfield is making a major investment in Andhra Pradesh. The company has announced that it will invest approximately ₹2,200 crore to set up a new manufacturing plant in the state. This is considered the company's first major expansion outside Tamil Nadu since its inception in 1901.
The company will build this new plant in Satyavedu Mandal, Tirupati district, Andhra Pradesh. This area is located near the border of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The new factory will be constructed in two phases.
The company aims to increase its manufacturing capacity by approximately 900,000 units. This will significantly help India become a global bike manufacturing hub. The project has received approval from the Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board.
Royal Enfield got so much land
The state government has allocated approximately 267 acres of land in Vannellur and Rallakuppam villages in Satyavedu for this project. The plant is expected to generate employment for approximately 5,000 people, creating new job and business opportunities for local residents.
The company will create a big ecosystem
The company stated that in the first phase, a large vendor park will be built alongside the main factory.
Through this vendor park, the company will bring its supplier network to Andhra Pradesh. This will create a large ecosystem for the automobile industry in the state, and many small and large companies will also develop nearby.
The project will be completed by 2029
Royal Enfield says this project will help create a world-class automobile manufacturing cluster in Andhra Pradesh. The first phase of the project is targeted for completion by 2029, with the second phase to be completed by 2032.
The Andhra Pradesh government has described this investment as a major achievement for the state.
The government believes that the plant will accelerate industrial development in South Andhra Pradesh and will also increase the potential for new investment in sectors such as automobiles, electronics, and renewable energy.
