Jewar Airport to Ganga Expressway: 74-km Greenfield Corridor to Boost Connectivity Across 12 UP Districts
A 74.3-km Greenfield Expressway will connect Noida International Airport at Jewar with the Ganga Expressway. The ₹4,000 crore project will benefit 12 districts, reduce travel time, and strengthen logistics and industrial growth.
RJ Kesari News Desk: Uttar Pradesh is preparing for another major infrastructure milestone as plans move forward to connect the Noida International Airport at Jewar directly with the Meerut–Prayagraj Ganga Expressway through a new 74.3-kilometre Greenfield Link Expressway.
The ambitious project is expected to significantly improve connectivity across western Uttar Pradesh, making travel to Jewar Airport faster and more convenient while boosting industrial development, logistics, and regional economic growth.
Travel from Bulandshahr to Jewar Airport in Just 20 Minutes
Once completed, the new expressway will dramatically reduce travel time between Bulandshahr and Noida International Airport, allowing commuters to reach the airport in approximately 20 minutes.
The improved road network will also provide seamless access for residents and businesses across western Uttar Pradesh, strengthening links with Delhi-NCR and one of India's largest upcoming international airports.
₹4,000 Crore Project to Be Developed as a Six-Lane Access-Controlled Expressway
The proposed Jewar-Ganga Link Expressway will span 74.3 kilometres and is expected to cost around ₹4,000 crore.
Key project highlights include:
- Initial six-lane expressway
- Expandable to eight lanes in the future
- Fully access-controlled corridor
- No traffic signals or regular intersections
- Designed for faster and safer travel
The modern expressway is expected to reduce congestion while improving traffic flow and travel efficiency.
Nearly 997 Hectares of Land to Be Acquired
To build the new corridor, the government plans to acquire approximately 997 hectares of land.
According to the proposal:
- Farmers are expected to receive nearly ₹1,500 crore in compensation.
- The expressway will pass through five tehsils of Bulandshahr district.
- It will connect directly with the Yamuna Expressway before reaching Noida International Airport.
Officials believe the project will create new opportunities for industrial investment, warehousing, logistics, and commercial development across the region.
12 Districts to Benefit from Direct Airport Connectivity
The 594-kilometre Ganga Expressway, stretching from Meerut to Prayagraj, already connects several important districts across Uttar Pradesh.
With the addition of the new Greenfield link, 12 districts connected to the Ganga Expressway will gain faster and more direct access to Jewar Airport, improving passenger travel as well as cargo transportation.
The enhanced connectivity is expected to strengthen regional trade and attract fresh investments.
New Noida to Get Better Road Connectivity
Alongside the expressway project, authorities are also focusing on improving connectivity between Noida and the upcoming New Noida region.
According to planning authorities:
- New Noida will be developed in four phases.
- The planned development area covers 209.11 square kilometres.
- New link roads will connect the city's internal road network directly with existing Noida infrastructure.
This integrated transport network is expected to improve mobility across the Delhi-NCR region and support future urban expansion.
Major Boost for Industry, Logistics and Real Estate
Infrastructure experts believe the new expressway could become a major growth driver for western Uttar Pradesh.
The project is expected to:
- Improve airport accessibility
- Reduce travel time across western UP
- Strengthen logistics and freight movement
