The Southwest Monsoon has picked up pace and is now advancing rapidly across several regions of the country. According to the latest India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, widespread rainfall activity is expected in multiple states over the next few days.

RJ Kesari News Desk: While Mumbai, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Odisha, and several eastern states are likely to witness heavy rainfall, parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar remain under alerts for thunderstorms, strong winds, and heatwave conditions.

Monsoon Advances Rapidly Across India

The latest IMD update indicates that the monsoon has now fully covered the remaining parts of Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Telangana, and Odisha. Monsoon clouds have also progressed into new areas of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar.

Meteorologists expect the monsoon to advance further into Gujarat, the remaining parts of Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh within the next two to three days. Favorable weather conditions are also developing for widespread monsoon rainfall across the remaining regions of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar during the coming week.

Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued for Multiple Regions

The weather department has issued Orange and Red Alerts for several regions along the western coast, northeastern India, and sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected throughout the week in:

  • Gujarat

  • Odisha
  • West Bengal
  • Sikkim

Residents of Delhi-NCR can expect partly cloudy skies throughout the day. Light rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds may develop during the afternoon or evening hours.

  • Minimum Temperature: 26°C to 28°C

The weather is likely to remain hot and humid despite the possibility of scattered showers.

Uttar Pradesh Weather Update

Several districts in western Uttar Pradesh may receive rainfall today. According to the latest forecast, districts including:

  • Gautam Buddha Nagar
  • Meerut
  • Ghaziabad
  • Agra
  • Varanasi
  • Prayagraj

could witness heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds reaching 80–90 kmph.

Meanwhile, parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh remain under a Heatwave Alert, with temperatures continuing to stay above normal levels.

Maharashtra and Western Coast Weather

Heavy monsoon activity is expected across Konkan and Goa, where widespread rainfall is likely over the next few days.

Mumbai Weather Alert: The IMD has issued a special warning for Mumbai, forecasting heavy rainfall during the next 48 hours.

Parts of Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada may also experience thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph.

Bihar Weather Forecast

Residents of Bihar should prepare for unstable weather conditions.

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds of 40–50 kmph, occasionally reaching 60 kmph, are expected in several districts.

Special alerts have been issued for:

  • Gaya
  • Bhojpur
  • Siwan
  • Saran

Additionally, some areas may continue to experience heatwave conditions despite increasing moisture levels.

Jharkhand Weather Update

Several parts of Jharkhand are likely to witness thunderstorms and lightning activity.

  • Dhanbad
  • Bokaro

may experience strong winds of up to 70–75 kmph. Weather experts have also predicted unusually warm nights across the state on June 24 and June 25.

West Bengal, Sikkim and Odisha Forecast

Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim are expected to receive heavy rainfall today, while widespread rain activity is forecast across several districts of Odisha.

In Rajasthan, dust storms and gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 50 kmph are likely in both eastern and western regions.

Meanwhile, isolated rainfall is expected in the hill states of:

  • Himachal Pradesh
  • Uttarakhand

Northeast India and South India Weather

Heavy rainfall warnings remain in effect for parts of Assam and Meghalaya, where localized flooding cannot be ruled out.

The IMD has also issued a Heavy Rain Alert for northern and southern interior districts of Karnataka.

Due to rough sea conditions and strong winds, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea today.
