Rajasthan Weather Alert: IMD Issues Thunderstorm and Heavy Rain Warning for 27 Districts
Rajasthan Weather Update: Weather conditions have changed significantly across Rajasthan as pre-monsoon showers continue to bring relief from the scorching summer heat. Several districts witnessed moderate to heavy rainfall on Friday, and the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has now issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and rain in 27 districts on Saturday.
RJ Kesari News Desk: The latest forecast suggests that pre-monsoon activity will remain active over the next few days, especially across northeastern and southern parts of the state.
Heavy Rainfall Recorded Across Several Districts
During the past 24 hours, widespread rainfall was reported in many parts of Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Sri Ganganagar, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Nagaur, and Pratapgarh.
Among the highest rainfall figures recorded were:
- Nagaur (Deh): 60 mm
- Khinvsar (Nagaur): 40 mm
- Kareda (Bhilwara): 35 mm
- Arnod (Pratapgarh): 32 mm
- Chittorgarh: 28 mm
- Dalot (Pratapgarh): 27 mm
- Dag (Jhalawar): 23 mm
Moderate rainfall was also recorded in Kumbhalgarh (Rajsamand), Kishangarh (Ajmer), Viratnagar (Jaipur), Hindumalkot (Sri Ganganagar), Mandawa (Jhunjhunu), Dabli Rathan (Hanumangarh), Bijolia (Bhilwara), and Jhadol (Udaipur).
Thunderstorm and Rain Alert for Multiple Districts
According to the IMD, thunderstorms accompanied by rain and gusty winds are likely to affect several districts across Rajasthan today.
Heavy rainfall activity was particularly intense in Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh, while light to moderate showers were also reported in parts of:
- Banswara
- Baran
- Beawar
- Bundi
- Dausa
- Kota
- Pali
Residents in these areas have been advised to stay updated with local weather advisories.
Heat Persists in Western Rajasthan
While eastern and southern districts received rainfall, several western parts of Rajasthan continued to experience intense heat due to limited rain activity.
Maximum temperatures recorded on Friday included:
- Churu: 41.9°C
- Jaisalmer: 41.5°C
- Bikaner: 41.4°C
- Barmer: 41.2°C
- Phalodi: 40.0°C
- Pilani (Jhunjhunu): 39.7°C
- Alwar: 39.4°C
- Kota: 39.0°C
The lack of widespread rainfall in western districts has allowed temperatures to remain above the seasonal average.
Pre-Monsoon Activity to Continue
The India Meteorological Department has forecast that pre-monsoon weather conditions will continue across Rajasthan over the next three days.
Northeastern and southern regions of the state are expected to witness additional thunderstorms, lightning, and scattered rainfall before the southwest monsoon advances further into Rajasthan.
