Rajasthan Weather Alert: Heavy Rain and Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Several Districts, Check IMD Forecast Till July 10
Rajasthan Weather: The southwest monsoon has once again become active across Rajasthan, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue fresh rainfall alerts for several districts. According to the latest forecast, seven districts are under an Orange Alert for heavy rainfall today, while most other districts remain under a Yellow Alert. Jaisalmer is currently the only district not covered under the statewide rainfall warning.
RJ Kesari News Desk: The weather department has warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue in parts of the state until July 9, with scattered showers expected in several regions through July 10.
Why Is Rajasthan Receiving Heavy Rainfall?
According to the IMD, the ongoing spell of rain is being driven by a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal along with an active monsoon trough stretching across central India.
The system has moved towards southeastern Jharkhand and is expected to continue moving west-northwest. As a result, moisture-laden winds are likely to trigger widespread rainfall across Rajasthan over the next few days.
Weather Department's Latest Update
Jaipur Meteorological Centre Director Radheshyam Sharma said the monsoon trough is currently passing through northern Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and extending towards southwestern Rajasthan.
Due to this weather system, districts in the Kota, Udaipur, and Jodhpur divisions are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall until July 9.
