Rain Alert Issued for These Haryana Districts; IMD Shares Latest Weather Update
Haryana Weather Update: The weather has changed once again across Haryana as the southwest monsoon continues to advance through the state. The monsoon has now reached Hisar, with the current monsoon trough passing through Hisar (Haryana) and Bathinda (Punjab).
RJ Kesari News Desk: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the southwest monsoon has further advanced after covering the remaining parts of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Rajasthan, and has now entered additional regions of Haryana.
Monsoon Likely to Cover Entire Haryana Soon
The IMD has stated that weather conditions are highly favorable for the monsoon to spread across the entire state over the next 4 to 5 days. As the monsoon strengthens, rainfall activity is expected to increase from today, bringing much-needed relief from the hot and humid weather.
Yellow Alert Issued for 17 Districts
The weather department has issued a Yellow Alert for 17 districts across northern and southeastern Haryana.
Districts likely to experience rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds include:
- Ambala
- Yamunanagar
- Kurukshetra
- Karnal
- Panchkula
- Sonipat
- Panipat
- Gurugram
- Faridabad
- Palwal
- Nuh
- Rohtak
Several other nearby districts are also expected to witness similar weather conditions under the alert.
Rainfall Recorded in the Last 24 Hours
At present, the monsoon's impact is mainly visible across eastern, northern, and southern Haryana.
According to IMD data, the highest rainfall recorded during the last 24 hours includes:
- Yamunanagar: 11.0 mm
- Sonipat: 6.5 mm
- Mahendragarh: 6.0 mm
- Gurugram: 5.0 mm
Meanwhile, western districts such as Sirsa and Fatehabad have remained largely dry, with the monsoon yet to become fully active in those areas.
Statewide Monsoon Activity Expected from July 6
The weather department has indicated that the monsoon system is expected to become uniformly active across the entire state from July 6, increasing the likelihood of widespread rainfall in most districts.
