India's Largest Electronics & Semiconductor Hub Coming Up in Jewar
Jewar is set to become India's largest electronics and semiconductor manufacturing hub with ₹6,750 crore investment, creating 3,000 jobs and boosting Make in India.
RJ Kesari News Desk: Uttar Pradesh News: Jewar is rapidly transforming into one of India's biggest industrial destinations. With fresh investments worth ₹6,750 crore, the region is now set to emerge as the country's largest electronics and semiconductor manufacturing hub, giving a major boost to domestic manufacturing, exports, and employment.
The landmark projects were inaugurated by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Yamuna City, reinforcing the government's vision of making India a global electronics powerhouse.
₹6,750 Crore Investment to Transform Jewar
Two large-scale manufacturing projects will anchor the new industrial ecosystem.
The first project, worth ₹3,250 crore, will manufacture advanced multi-layer and high-density Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), while the second project, with an investment of ₹3,500 crore, will focus on HVAC components and PCB assembly.
Together, these projects are expected to generate nearly 3,000 direct employment opportunities, with thousands of additional indirect jobs likely to be created across the supply chain.
Reducing India's Dependence on Imports
Speaking at the foundation ceremony, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said India currently imports Printed Circuit Boards worth nearly ₹40,000 crore every year.
Once domestic production begins at the new facilities, import dependence is expected to decline significantly, strengthening the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives while enhancing India's manufacturing capabilities.
Jewar Aims to Become North India's Silicon Valley
According to the Union Minister, the development of the semiconductor ecosystem is paving the way for Jewar to become a leading electronics manufacturing destination.
He expressed confidence that several global electronics companies will invest in the region in the coming years, helping Jewar earn the reputation of being North India's Silicon Valley.
A New Era of High-Tech Manufacturing
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted that Uttar Pradesh recently witnessed the foundation of North India's first semiconductor manufacturing unit. With the launch of the electronics park, the state is entering a new phase of high-tech industrial development.
He emphasized that semiconductors and electronic components will play a central role in the global economy, and Uttar Pradesh is positioning itself as a major player in this rapidly expanding industry.
Building India into an Electronics Export Hub
The state government aims to go beyond meeting domestic demand by transforming India into a global exporter of electronic components.
Officials believe that investor-friendly industrial policies, simplified approvals through the single-window system, and world-class infrastructure are attracting both Indian and international companies to Uttar Pradesh.
Jewar's Remarkable Transformation
Once known primarily as an agricultural region, Jewar is now emerging as one of North India's fastest-growing industrial corridors.
The upcoming Noida International Airport, along with the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and the proposed Delhi–Lucknow–Varanasi Bullet Train Corridor, is expected to further strengthen the region's connectivity and investment potential.
These mega infrastructure projects are likely to attract manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and technology companies to the area.
206-Acre Electronics Manufacturing Cluster Under Development
A dedicated Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) is also being developed across 206 acres in the Yamuna Expressway region.
The project involves an investment of approximately ₹417 crore and is expected to provide world-class infrastructure for electronics manufacturers, component suppliers, and technology firms.
Industry experts believe the cluster will play a key role in establishing Uttar Pradesh as one of India's leading electronics manufacturing destinations.
Growing Confidence of Global Investors
The Uttar Pradesh government also highlighted the increasing investment interest from South Korean companies, describing it as a reflection of strengthening economic ties and growing confidence in the state's industrial ecosystem.
With expanding infrastructure, skilled workforce availability, and strong government support, Jewar is rapidly positioning itself as one of India's most attractive destinations for high-tech manufacturing investments.
