RJ Kesari News Desk: According to reports, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has prepared the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Gurugram–Faridabad–Noida RRTS Corridor and submitted it to the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) for approval. After receiving clearance from the concerned departments, the proposal is expected to be placed before the state cabinet for final approval.

63-km High-Speed Corridor Planned

The proposed rapid rail corridor will cover a total distance of 63 kilometres, including:

  • 50 km in Haryana
  • 13 km in Uttar Pradesh

The project includes the construction of:

  • 7 Namo Bharat stations
  • 15 new Metro stations

Once completed, the corridor will become one of the most important transport links in the National Capital Region.

Three Namo Bharat Stations Planned in Gurugram

The Haryana section of the corridor will begin from IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram.

The proposed Namo Bharat stations are:

  • IFFCO Chowk
  • Sector-61
  • Gwal Pahari

Additionally, five new Metro stations have been proposed at:

  • Sector-29
  • Millennium City Centre (Yellow Line Interchange)
  • Sector-52/52A
  • Wazirabad
  • Sector-57

These stations will improve connectivity between the rapid rail network and the existing metro system.

Faridabad to Get Three Rapid Rail Stations

After leaving Gurugram, the corridor will enter Faridabad through the Gurugram–Faridabad Road.

The proposed Namo Bharat stations in Faridabad are:

  • Sainik Colony
  • Bata Chowk (Violet Line Interchange)
  • Sector-87/88 Junction

The city will also receive seven new Metro stations at:

  • NIT-3
  • NIT-1
  • Sector-12/13/14/15 Junction
  • Sector-80
  • Sector-81/82 Junction
  • Sector-85/86 Junction
  • Badshahpur

Noida and Greater Noida Stations

The corridor will cross the Yamuna River through the FNG Expressway before entering Uttar Pradesh.

The proposed Namo Bharat stations include:

  • Noida Sector-142 (Aqua Line Interchange)
  • Surajpur (Greater Noida)

Three additional Metro stations are proposed at:

  • Sector-135
  • Sector-141
  • Suthyana

Travel Time to Reduce to Just 50 Minutes

Currently, travelling between Gurugram and Noida via Faridabad often takes well over an hour due to heavy traffic congestion.

Once the rapid rail corridor becomes operational, passengers are expected to complete the journey in around 50 minutes, providing significant relief to daily commuters and reducing road congestion across NCR.

Direct Connectivity Between Two Major Airports

One of the biggest advantages of the project is its ability to improve connectivity between Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport and the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar.

The proposed Surajpur Station will also serve as an interchange for the future Ghaziabad–Jewar Airport Rapid Rail Corridor, making airport transfers much faster and more convenient.

Seamless Integration with Delhi Metro

The new corridor will be integrated with several existing metro networks, including:

  • Delhi Metro Yellow Line
  • Delhi Metro Violet Line
  • Noida Aqua Line
  • Gurugram Rapid Metro

This integrated network will allow passengers to travel across Delhi-NCR with fewer interchanges and shorter travel times.

Project Cost Estimated at ₹19,390 Crore

According to the DPR, the total project cost is estimated at ₹19,390 crore.

The proposed funding structure is:

  • Bank Loans: ₹10,102 crore
  • Haryana Government: ₹4,555 crore
  • Central Government: ₹3,367 crore
  • Uttar Pradesh Government: ₹1,364 crore

Expected Launch by 2028

The government has not yet announced an official construction or commissioning date.

However, if all statutory approvals are received on schedule, the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail service is expected to become operational by mid-2028.

The project is expected to transform regional mobility, reduce traffic congestion, and strengthen public transport infrastructure across Delhi-NCR.
