Haryana weather news

RJ Kesari News Desk: Haryana Weather Update (2 July 2026): The southwest monsoon has finally become active across Haryana, bringing widespread rainfall to several districts and providing much-needed relief from the intense heat and humidity. Since early Wednesday morning, Panipat, Sonipat, Karnal, and Fatehabad have witnessed moderate to heavy showers, while several other districts continue to remain under a rain alert.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), monsoon activity is expected to strengthen further over the next 48 hours, with heavy rainfall likely in many parts of the state.

Heavy Rain Recorded in Several Haryana Districts

Continuous rainfall was reported in Panipat, where intense showers significantly lowered temperatures and improved weather conditions. Similar rainfall activity was also observed in Sonipat, Karnal, and Fatehabad, bringing relief to residents who had been experiencing prolonged heatwave-like conditions.

Meteorologists expect rainfall intensity to increase in the coming days as the monsoon advances across the entire state.

The weather department has issued a heavy rainfall alert until 7 July for several districts of Haryana.

Areas likely to receive heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning include:

  • Ambala
  • Yamunanagar

  • Karnal
  • Panchkula
  • Nearby Chandigarh region

Residents in these districts have been advised to remain cautious during periods of heavy rainfall and strong winds.
