Haryana Weather: IMD Issues Yellow Alert for Heavy Rain Across Most Districts

Haryana Weather: The weather pattern across Haryana has changed once again as the southwest monsoon becomes fully active over the state.

RJ Kesari News Desk: Over the past two days, several districts have received significant rainfall, bringing much-needed relief from heat and humidity. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the northern limit of the monsoon currently passes through Bhiwani and Bathinda, indicating further advancement across the region.

The weather department has also warned that rain activity is expected to continue in many parts of Haryana, with thunderstorms and gusty winds likely over the next 24 hours.

Monsoon Brings Good Rainfall to Several Districts

The latest rainfall data shows that Haryana has recorded 11.1 mm of rainfall during the last two days. From June 1 to July 2, the state has received a cumulative rainfall of 40.1 mm.

While several districts witnessed widespread showers, rainfall distribution remained uneven, with some areas receiving considerably more rain than others.

These Districts Recorded the Highest Rainfall

According to IMD data, Fatehabad recorded the highest rainfall over the past two days with 30.8 mm, followed by:

  • Mahendragarh: 27.9 mm
  • Hisar: 20.7 mm

Interestingly, neighboring Sirsa remained almost dry despite heavy rainfall in nearby districts, highlighting the uneven spread of monsoon showers.

Yellow Alert Issued for These Haryana Districts

The India Meteorological Department has issued a Yellow Alert for thunderstorms, moderate rainfall, and strong winds in most parts of Haryana.

The alert covers the following districts:

  • Panchkula
  • Ambala
  • Yamunanagar
  • Kurukshetra
  • Kaithal
  • Karnal
  • Jind
  • Panipat
  • Sonipat
  • Rohtak
  • Jhajjar
  • Gurugram
  • Faridabad
  • Palwal
  • Nuh
  • Rewari
  • Mahendragarh
  • Bhiwani

However, Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, and Charkhi Dadri have not been included under today's Yellow Alert.

Residents Advised to Stay Alert

Weather officials have advised residents to remain cautious during thunderstorms and strong winds. People are encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel during intense rainfall, secure loose outdoor objects, and stay updated with the latest weather advisories.

Farmers are also advised to monitor local weather forecasts before carrying out agricultural activities.
