RJ Kesari News Desk: As part of the project, around 1,000 acres of land will be developed into seven new residential and commercial sectors, giving a major boost to urban infrastructure, investment, and employment in the region. Following approval from Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has started work on the project.

Seven New Sectors to Transform Ambala

Under the proposed Ambala Development Project, HSVP will develop Sector 27, Sector 28, Sector 36, Sector 40, Sector 40-A, Sector 41-A, and Sector 42. These sectors are expected to feature modern roads, public utilities, green spaces, commercial hubs, and residential zones, making Ambala one of Haryana's fastest-growing urban centers.

Several Villages to Be Included in the Expansion

The new sectors will be developed across land located in Ghasitpur, Buhava, Shahpur, Brahman Majra, Kardan, Sarsehri, Chandpura, Machhonda, Ugara, Dukheri, Salarheri, Ranwala, Manglai, and Sambhalkha villages.

Officials believe the project will significantly improve civic infrastructure while increasing land values and creating new opportunities for local residents.

Ring Road Connectivity to Strengthen Infrastructure

A major highlight of the project is its seamless integration with the Ambala Ring Road, which will improve connectivity across the city and reduce traffic congestion.

To support future urban growth, the Haryana Government is also investing ₹38 crore in strengthening the city's power infrastructure. The plan includes the construction of new electricity feeders and a modern substation near Shahpur-Machhonda to ensure uninterrupted power supply.

Land Purchase Through e-Bhoomi Portal

The government has emphasized that land acquisition will be carried out through the e-Bhoomi Portal, ensuring a transparent and voluntary process.

Instead of compulsory acquisition, farmers and landowners can willingly offer their land through the portal. The government will purchase land only after mutual agreement, reducing legal disputes and ensuring fair compensation.

Ambala Set to Become an Industrial and Logistics Hub

The metropolitan city project is expected to complement the proposed 2,600-acre Saha Industrial Area, logistics park, and railway freight terminal.

With improved road and rail connectivity, Ambala is likely to attract manufacturing industries, logistics companies, warehouses, and large-scale private investments, strengthening its position as a key industrial destination in North India.

Aryabhatta Regional Science Centre to Add New Attraction

Alongside urban development, the government is constructing the Aryabhatta Regional Science Centre on GT Road at an estimated cost of ₹36 crore.

The centre will feature a Virtual Science Gallery, Live Weather Display, and interactive science exhibits, providing a modern learning experience for students while boosting tourism in the city.

Thousands of Employment Opportunities Expected

Experts believe the Ambala Metropolitan City Project will create significant economic opportunities over the coming years. Development of residential neighborhoods, commercial complexes, industrial zones, and logistics infrastructure is expected to generate thousands of direct jobs and lakhs of indirect employment opportunities.
