RJ Kesari News Desk: With a wave of newly sanctioned funds and projects well underway, the minister stated that a substantial portion of these upgrades will reach completion by 2027, completely reshaping the urban and rural landscape of Barwala.

🌳 City Park, Grand Library, and New Entry Gates

Several high-budget civic amenities and beautification projects are set to kick off in Barwala city shortly:

  • Barwala City Park: The foundation stone for a state-of-the-art City Park will be laid soon, backed by an allocation of ₹3.87 crore.

  • Modern Public Library: To assist students and avid readers, a grand library project has been greenlit with a sanctioned budget of ₹3.80 crore.

  • Iconic Entry Gates: Two grand entry gates and surrounding intersection chowks will be constructed at the city's key entry points—one on the Chandigarh-facing highway and the other on the Hisar-facing highway—at a cost of ₹3.70 crore.

  • Administrative Infrastructure: Construction for the official buildings of the Municipal Council and the Public Works Department (PWD) has already been successfully wrapped up.

💧 ₹70 Crore Sanitation & Water Management Overhaul

The Public Health Engineering Department is aggressively tackling long-standing civic and environmental issues in the area:

Key Works: An estimated ₹70 crore is being deployed exclusively for setting up advanced Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) and Water Treatment Plants (WTPs).

Additionally, a separate, dedicated pipeline network is being laid out for storm-water drainage. Minister Gangwa noted that while the next 5 to 6 months of heavy excavation work might cause temporary commuting inconveniences to locals, the long-term completion of these pipelines will permanently resolve the city's waterlogging challenges.

🛣️ Rural Connectivity and Animal Welfare Initiatives

The development drive extends deep into Barwala's rural pockets and agricultural communities:

  • Bugana Village Upgrades: A fund of ₹61.27 lakh has been officially approved to lay inter-paving block internal roads (Phirni) stretching from the main bus stand to the Government School in Bugana village.

  • Specialized Veterinary Hospital: To ensure top-tier medical care for over 3,000 cattle housed across local shelters—including the Shri Gau Raksha Seva Samiti, Gopal Gaushala, Nandi Gaushala, and Viklang Gaushala—the government will soon establish a specialized Government Veterinary Hospital in Barwala, bringing premium livestock healthcare directly to regional cattle rearers.
