Haryana News: HSVP to Purchase 1,035 Acres Across 8 Villages to Develop New Sectors in Karnal
Haryana News: The Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has unveiled a major urban expansion plan for Karnal, aiming to develop Sectors 34, 35, and 36. As part of the project, around 1,035 acres of land will be purchased from landowners in eight villages through a voluntary process.
RJ Kesari News Desk: The proposed development is expected to strengthen Karnal's infrastructure, create new residential and commercial zones, and attract fresh investment while generating employment opportunities.
Land Purchase to Be Conducted Through the e-Bhoomi Portal
The Haryana Government has clarified that no compulsory land acquisition will take place for this project. Instead, land will be purchased only with the consent of farmers and landowners through the state's e-Bhoomi Portal.
The voluntary model is designed to ensure transparency, reduce legal disputes, and provide a smooth land transaction process between the government and property owners.
These 8 Villages Have Been Included in the Project
The proposed land acquisition will cover the following villages:
- Baldi
- Tikri
- Kailash
- Budhakhera
- Phoosgarh
- Mangalpur
- Makarapur
- Other identified areas of Karnal
These locations have been selected for the development of new residential sectors, commercial spaces, and modern urban infrastructure.
Farmers Can Decide Their Own Land Price
One of the key highlights of this Haryana News update is that farmers will have the freedom to quote their expected price per acre while registering their land on the e-Bhoomi Portal.
The government will purchase land only after both parties mutually agree on the price. Once the agreement is finalized, the payment will be transferred directly to the farmer's bank account, eliminating the role of middlemen and ensuring complete transparency.
How to Register on the e-Bhoomi Portal
Farmers willing to sell their land can follow these steps:
- Visit the e-Bhoomi Portal.
- Log in using your Family ID (Parivar Pehchan Patra) and registered mobile number.
- Select the district, tehsil, village, khasra number, and enter complete land details.
- Mention your expected price per acre.
- Upload required documents, including Jamabandi records, identity proof, and other supporting documents.
- Submit the application for verification.
After the verification process is completed, the concerned department will review the application. If both sides agree on the terms, the government will complete the purchase and transfer the payment directly to the landowner.
Major Boost for Karnal's Urban Development
The development of Sectors 34, 35, and 36 is expected to transform Karnal's urban landscape by creating new housing projects, commercial establishments, and improved civic infrastructure.
Officials believe the project will enhance the city's growth potential, attract private investment, and generate employment opportunities for local residents.
