Haryana News: Gurugram Civic Body Dismisses 4 Employees for AI Photo Manipulation and GPS Spoofing

The Municipal Corporation of Gurugram has terminated four contract employees after departmental investigations found alleged misconduct involving AI-edited images, GPS spoofing, and property tax irregularities.

RJ Kesari News Desk: In a major administrative action, the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has terminated the services of four contractual employees engaged through HKRNL with immediate effect. The decision follows a departmental inquiry, personal hearings, and an examination of the available evidence.

According to officials, the employees were found guilty of multiple instances of alleged misconduct, including violation of service rules, negligence of duty, misuse of official position, preparation of false records, and obstruction of government work.

Action Taken Following Departmental Investigation

The termination orders were issued on the directions of Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya after the inquiry reportedly established serious lapses in official conduct.

Authorities said the disciplinary action was taken only after completing the departmental process and reviewing the evidence against the employees.

Two Computer Operators Removed Over Property Tax Irregularities

Among those dismissed are computer operators Neeraj Vashisht and Ankur Arora, who were handling Property ID and Property Tax cases.

According to the investigation, both employees allegedly raised unnecessary objections in property-related applications without following the prescribed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).

Officials stated that these actions delayed the disposal of applications and caused inconvenience to citizens seeking property-related services.

AI-Edited Images Allegedly Used to Show False Complaint Resolution

Another employee, Assistant Sanitation Inspector Wasim, was removed after the inquiry reportedly found that AI-based photo editing tools had been used to manipulate images uploaded to the public grievance portal.

The investigation alleged that the edited images were submitted to falsely claim that public complaints had been resolved.

The civic body treated the matter as a case of serious misconduct and alleged fraud, leading to immediate termination of service.

GPS Spoofing Allegation Leads to Another Dismissal

The fourth employee, Assistant Sanitation Inspector Sonu, was also dismissed after an inquiry reportedly found that he used a GPS spoofing application to mark his attendance while allegedly remaining absent from his assigned workplace.

Officials said the allegations were confirmed during the investigation, prompting disciplinary action.
