Haryana News: Government to Develop New Sectors in Gurugram, 17,358 Acres to Be Purchased Across 36 Villages
Haryana News: The Haryana Government has unveiled an ambitious urban development plan to transform Gurugram by acquiring 17,358 acres of land from 36 revenue villages. The proposed project aims to create modern residential, commercial, and institutional sectors equipped with world-class infrastructure, wider roads, green belts, public spaces, and improved civic amenities.
RJ Kesari News Desk: The initiative is expected to play a significant role in meeting the region's rapidly growing housing and infrastructure needs while supporting Gurugram's long-term urban expansion.
Land Purchase Process to Be Conducted Through the e-Bhumi Portal
The entire land procurement process will be managed digitally by the Haryana Shehari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) through the official e-Bhumi Portal.
Landowners from the notified villages can voluntarily register on the portal, upload their land details, and submit their willingness to sell. The government has adopted a transparent digital system to ensure faster processing and greater convenience for property owners.
First Phase Targets 40,000 Acres Across 13 Cities
The government has clarified that this is not a compulsory land acquisition drive. Instead, it is a voluntary land procurement model, where land will be purchased only after mutual agreement with landowners.
This initiative forms part of the state's larger objective of developing nearly 1.7 lakh acres of urban land. During the first phase, approximately 40,000 acres will be procured across 13 cities, with Gurugram receiving the highest priority.
The voluntary approach is also expected to minimize legal disputes and compensation-related conflicts that are often associated with traditional land acquisition.
These 36 Villages Have Been Included in the Project
The proposed land purchase will cover the following villages:
Kherki Daula, Kadipur, Sihi, Harsuru, Basai, Gadoli, Gadoli Kalan, Gadoli Khurd, Behrampur, Ullawas, Kadarpur, Badshahpur, Tikli, Palra, Kharki, Naurangpur, Medawas, Sikanderpur Bada, Lakhnoula, Hayatpur, Nawada, Fatehpur, Wazirpur, Kankrola, Mevka, Dhankot, Kherki, Majra, Daulatabad, Dhanwapur, Mohammadpur Hedi, Tikampur, Babupur, Pawala, Khushroopur, and Dorka.
What Landowners Need to Do
If your land falls within any of the notified villages, you will need to visit the e-Bhumi Portal and upload complete details of your property.
After submission, officials will verify the land records and supporting documents. Once verification is completed, the purchase process will move forward based on mutual consent between the government and the landowner.
The government has provided two months for eligible landowners to submit their information. After this period, the verification, agreement, and development process will begin.
Gurugram Set for Its Largest Urban Expansion
According to official data, HSVP has already developed 52 sectors in Gurugram, including 44 residential sectors, six industrial sectors, and two institutional sectors. Nearly 49,950 plots have already been developed and allotted in these areas.
With the addition of these proposed sectors, the city is expected to witness its biggest urban expansion to date, creating new opportunities for real estate, infrastructure, commercial investment, and employment.
