RJ Kesari News Desk: Earlier, in the first phase, applications were invited from farmers for the purchase of around 1.67 lakh acres across 71 cities. Now, landowners and farmers in the newly identified areas can submit their applications through the e-Bhoomi portal until August 31.

Land to Be Purchased Through the e-Bhoomi Portal

The Haryana government will purchase land with the consent of landowners via the e-Bhoomi portal (ebhoomi.jamabandi.nic.in) instead of using compulsory acquisition.

The second phase covers land in the following locations:

  • Hisar: 789.91 acres
  • Sonipat: 18,102.11 acres
  • Kaithal: 3,961.01 acres
  • Meham: 1,246.52 acres
  • Tohana: 1,968.90 acres
  • Barwala: 672.06 acres
  • Raipur Rani: 437.10 acres
  • Nuh: 1,197.61 acres
  • Dabwali: 380.00 acres
  • Arogya Dham, Badsa: 2,046.82 acres
  • Farrukhnagar (Mubarikpur, Farrukhnagar, and Sultanpur): 1,203.52 acres

The acquired land will be used for developing new sectors and other urban development projects across these regions.

Farmers Will Be Able to Negotiate the Price

To reduce disputes over land acquisition, the Haryana government has adopted a consent-based land purchase policy.

Instead of compulsory acquisition, farmers will be allowed to submit their expected selling price while applying through the e-Bhoomi portal. If the government and the landowner agree on the proposed value, the transaction will proceed. If necessary, both parties can negotiate the final price before the sale is completed.

Application Deadline

Farmers and landowners interested in selling their land can submit applications through the e-Bhoomi portal until August 31, 2026. The portal will remain open for approximately two months to facilitate registrations.

The initiative is expected to accelerate Haryana's urban expansion while offering landowners a transparent and market-driven process for selling their land.
