RJ Kesari News Desk: Haryana News: Haryana is set to receive a major infrastructure boost with the development of a ₹765 crore Multi-Modal Logistics Hub in Mahendragarh district. The ambitious project, which will come up across the villages of Bashirpur, Ghatasher, and Talot in the Nangal Chaudhary region, is expected to transform the area's industrial and economic landscape while creating thousands of employment opportunities.

Mega Logistics Hub to Boost Haryana's Growth

The upcoming logistics hub will be developed along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC), one of India's most important freight networks connecting Delhi with Mumbai and major western ports. Its strategic location is expected to significantly improve cargo movement, reduce transportation costs, and strengthen Haryana's position as a logistics and warehousing destination.

Apart from Mahendragarh, several nearby districts are also expected to benefit from improved connectivity and increased industrial investment.

Project to Be Developed in Two Phases

The logistics hub will be developed over 865 acres in two phases.

  • Total project area: 865 acres
  • Phase 1: Construction to begin on 408 acres
  • Estimated investment: ₹765 crore

Once completed, the project is expected to become one of the largest logistics infrastructure developments in the region.

Major Infrastructure Already in Place

To support the logistics hub, several key infrastructure projects have already been completed, including:

  • Dedicated railway connectivity from New Dabla Railway Station
  • A 220 KV dedicated power transmission line
  • Canal water supply pipeline from Narnaul
  • Road connectivity with the National Highway

In addition, work on the internal railway network and railway platforms within the logistics hub is currently underway.

Capacity to Handle 20 Lakh Containers

After both phases are completed, the logistics hub will be capable of handling approximately 20 lakh containers annually.

The project will also include:

  • Large-scale warehousing facilities
  • Cold storage infrastructure
  • Storage capacity for nearly one lakh containers
  • Modern cargo handling systems

These facilities are expected to support manufacturing, agriculture, exports, and supply chain businesses across northern India.

Villages Expected to Benefit

The biggest beneficiaries of the project will be:

  • Bashirpur
  • Ghatasher
  • Talot

Residents of these villages are likely to gain from rising land values, improved infrastructure, new business opportunities, and employment generated by logistics, warehousing, transportation, and related industries.

Economic Impact on the Region

Experts believe the project could significantly boost the local economy by attracting private investment and encouraging industrial development around the freight corridor. Improved logistics infrastructure is also expected to reduce transportation costs for businesses while strengthening Haryana's role in India's expanding supply chain network.

As freight movement increases through the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, the Mahendragarh logistics hub could emerge as a major distribution and warehousing center for North India.
