Aaj Ka Mausam (7 July 2026): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rainfall and thunderstorms across several parts of the country as the southwest monsoon remains fully active. According to the latest weather bulletin, 21 states are likely to witness rain today, with some regions expected to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall.

According to the IMD, Mumbai, Thane, and other Konkan regions, along with parts of Gujarat, may experience extremely heavy rainfall today.
Heavy showers accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds could affect normal life in several districts.
Delhi-NCR May Witness Rain and Thunderstorms
The weather department has forecast cloudy skies, light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds over Delhi-NCR.
The rainfall is expected to bring relief from humid weather, although waterlogging and traffic disruptions are possible in low-lying areas.
Red and Orange Alerts Issued for Several States
The IMD has issued Red and Orange weather alerts for several regions due to the possibility of very heavy rainfall.

According to the IMD, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are expected to receive widespread rainfall between July 6 and July 12, with heavy rain likely over large areas during this period.
