RJ Kesari News Desk: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several states are likely to witness heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds, while a few regions may continue to experience hot and humid conditions. The latest Weather Forecast indicates that monsoon activity will strengthen further over the next two days.

Southwest Monsoon Nears Complete Coverage

The IMD Weather Forecast states that weather conditions are favorable for the southwest monsoon to advance over the remaining parts of Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and the North Arabian Sea. With this progress, the monsoon is expected to cover the entire country within the next couple of days, marking the full onset of the rainy season.

Low-Pressure System Continues to Influence Weather

A well-marked low-pressure area currently lies over northwestern Madhya Pradesh and adjoining southwestern Uttar Pradesh. Associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 9.6 kilometres above mean sea level, supporting widespread rainfall across central and northern India.

Meteorologists expect this weather system to weaken gradually, but it will continue to influence rainfall activity over several states during the next 12 to 24 hours.

Monsoon Trough Remains Active

The Monsoon Trough is currently stretching from southwestern Rajasthan to Bangladesh, passing through the low-pressure area, northern Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal.

Additionally, another trough extending from the northeastern Arabian Sea to Bangladesh remains active, enhancing moisture inflow and increasing rainfall intensity across many regions.

Meanwhile, the offshore trough continues along the west coast from South Gujarat to Kerala, while a Western Disturbance is also influencing weather conditions over the western Himalayan region.
