RJ Kesari News Desk: According to the latest forecast, some regions may experience moderate to heavy rainfall, while a few areas could receive isolated spells of very heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

Southwest Monsoon Continues to Advance

The IMD has stated that weather conditions remain favourable for the Southwest Monsoon to advance further over the remaining parts of Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, the North Arabian Sea, and additional areas of Rajasthan over the next two days.

The continued progress of the monsoon is expected to improve rainfall activity across northwestern India.

Low Pressure Area Weakens Over Central India

Meteorologists reported that the depression located over North Chhattisgarh and adjoining Southeast Uttar Pradesh and Northeast Madhya Pradesh has weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area over eastern Madhya Pradesh.

The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 9.6 km above mean sea level and is expected to move west-northwestward towards Madhya Pradesh and southwest Uttar Pradesh during the next 24 hours while gradually weakening.

Monsoon Trough and Weather Systems Remain Active

The Monsoon Trough currently stretches from Southwest Rajasthan to the East-Central Bay of Bengal, passing through the centre of the low-pressure area. It remains active up to an altitude of 1.5 km, supporting widespread rainfall activity.

Weather experts have also reported:

  • An active shear zone extending between 3.1 km and 7.6 km altitude.
  • An offshore trough stretching from the South Gujarat coast to the North Kerala coast.
  • A Western Disturbance active over the western Himalayan region, further enhancing rainfall over northern India.

These weather systems are expected to influence rainfall across several states over the next few days.
