RJ Kesari News Desk: The ambitious expressway will pass through 133 villages in Uttar Pradesh, promising faster connectivity between Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, improved freight movement, and significant economic growth across the region.

Land Acquisition Underway in 133 Villages

As part of the project, land will be acquired across 133 villages in the districts of Siddharthnagar, Sant Kabir Nagar, Gorakhpur, and Kushinagar. District administrations have been instructed to expedite the acquisition process and ensure timely compensation for affected landowners, helping the project stay on schedule.

Expressway Route Across Uttar Pradesh

The Gorakhpur–Panipat Expressway will enter Uttar Pradesh through Bansi in Siddharthnagar district before passing through Mehdawal (Sant Kabir Nagar), Gorakhpur Sadar, Campierganj, and finally Hata in Kushinagar. The corridor has been designed to provide high-speed, safe, and seamless travel while improving regional connectivity.

Villages and Stretch Covered

The proposed alignment will cover the following areas:

  • Bansi (Siddharthnagar): 37 villages across approximately 16.69 km
  • Mehdawal (Sant Kabir Nagar): 29 villages across approximately 22.5 km
  • Gorakhpur Sadar & Campierganj: 46 villages across approximately 34.22 km
  • Hata (Kushinagar): 21 villages across approximately 12.8 km

In total, 133 villages will be directly affected by the land acquisition process.

Major Boost for Trade and Logistics

The expressway will establish a direct high-speed link between eastern Uttar Pradesh and Panipat, one of Haryana's major industrial hubs. Faster transportation will reduce travel time and logistics costs for agricultural produce, manufactured goods, and handicrafts.

The corridor is also expected to improve road connectivity to areas near the Nepal border, strengthening cross-border trade and boosting regional logistics infrastructure.

Real Estate and Industrial Development Expected

Infrastructure experts believe the Gorakhpur–Panipat Expressway will significantly increase land values along its route. Improved connectivity is expected to attract investments in industrial parks, logistics hubs, warehouses, commercial projects, and residential townships.

As industrial activity expands, the project is likely to generate substantial employment opportunities and accelerate economic development across several districts.
